Defying Limits: A Decade of Breaking Barriers

Over the last decade, I’ve taken on some of the world’s most extreme challenges, pushing my mind and body to their absolute limits. These events are more than just tests of endurance—they are a journey of growth, transformation, and redefining what’s possible. Out of the 20 world firsts and world records I’ve achieved, these are some of the major milestones that have shaped who I am and what I stand for.

I do what no one else has done because if no one’s done it, I don’t even know it’s possible. That’s why I tell myself I can do it and work it out. And by doing so, I set a new baseline for the next generation—so they can do what I’ll never do. I rise, so others can reach even higher.

Discover the challenges that defined my journey, powered by Strength, Trust, Gratitude, and Flow State

JANUARY 3RD, 2015 – THE 500-MILE SOLO PADDLE (Strength & Trust)

The challenge that started it all—500 miles solo and unsupported across the Australian coast. The journey included 21 shark encounters, extreme dehydration, and physical exhaustion that would have stopped most in their tracks. But for me, it was a test of trust and strength. Trust in myself to face whatever came next, and strength to keep paddling forward despite the constant threat of danger. This challenge proved that the limits we face are often self-imposed, and when we push beyond them, we unlock the power to achieve the unimaginable.

JUNE 27, 2016 – SKATEBOARD ROUTE 66 (Strength & Flow State)

In 2016, I became the first person to ever skateboard across the entire Route 66, a 2,500-mile journey over 56 days. It wasn’t just about skating—it was about discovering how to remain in the flow state while pushing my body to the brink. Through the grueling 24-hour nonstop skate in the scorching Mojave Desert, I learned that strength isn’t just about physical endurance—it’s about adapting to the flow of life and moving with purpose no matter what obstacles lie ahead.

April 21, 2019 – The One Breath Tour (Trust & Gratitude)

The One Breath Tour was a 50-day motorcycle journey across the U.S., meeting people who had faced immense trauma. Youth in Baltimore detention centres, the homeless in Philadelphia washing their feet and supplying new shoes, fed homeless in Harlem, listened school shooting survivors, heard from suicide prevention groups, shared tools with child abuse survivors, and saw determination in war veterans. Each encounter deepened my understanding of trust and gratitude with a sense of pride purpose and determination.

Through discussions with Yale, Stanford, and Harvard psychology experts, I explored new ways to approach mental health. But the breakthrough came while crossing the Mojave Desert, realising that strength comes from a Connection to Breath, Connection to self, and a Connection to movement forward—the foundation of One Breath Meditation (OBM).

At its core, the tour was about trust—trust in healing, in growth, in sharing and in the power of a single breath to transform everything.

JUNE 18, 2021 – NEW HEIGHTS (Gratitude & Flow State)

Standing on top of a Hot Air Balloon at 7,500 feet was one of the most humbling experiences of my life. As the sun rose and the balloon climbed, I entered a flow state that allowed me to meditate in a place no one had ever meditated before—at 5,000 feet, and at 7,500 feet with nothing but open air beneath me. This moment taught me the power of being fully present, aligning with the energy of the moment, and trusting in the flow of life to carry me through challenges I never imagined possible. Gratitude for the opportunity and flow state became my grounding force as I faced the unknown.

MAY 9, 2022 – THE ULTIMATE BALLOON RIDE (Trust)

In 2022, I climbed a rope ladder from the basket of a Hot Air Balloon to the top, 10,000 feet in the sky. No parachute, no safety net. Meditating on top before strapping my rig on and skydiving off. The key to this challenge was trust. Trust in my training, my mind, and my ability to handle the unknown. In the face of fear and uncertainty, I embraced the enormity of the moment with deep gratitude, feeling thankful for the opportunity to test my limits, break new records, and experience freedom and peace in a way that only comes when you push beyond what’s normal.

FEBRUARY 17, 2023 – THE ULTIMATE MALDIVES PADDLE (Trust & Gratitude)

In early 2023, I took on the Maldives Paddle, a 9-day, 480km journey across the islands, pushing myself to the limit. But this challenge wasn’t just about pushing my body—it was about trusting that every step of the journey would lead me exactly where I needed to be. The local people, who believed what I was doing was impossible, reminded me that the true test of trust is not only in yourself but in the people and places that help guide you. It was a challenge that taught me to embrace the unknown and continue with gratitude, no matter how difficult the journey seemed.

FEBRUARY 18TH, 2024 – 3.8 TONNE TRUCK PULL (Strength & Gratitude)

Pulling a 3.8 tonne truck for 8 miles solo over 3 hours non stop was the ultimate test of physical strength. But it was more than just about muscle. It was about channelling all my focus and energy into every pull, every step, and embracing gratitude for the body that allows me to do what seems impossible. This was about learning to push through even when the body begs you to stop, and finding the inner strength to keep moving forward.

JANUARY 3RD, 2025 – THE 500 MILE AQUA BIKE PEDAL (Strength, Trust, Gratitude & Love)

In January 2025, I returned to where it all began—the 500-mile solo ocean paddle I first completed a decade earlier. This time, I did it on an Aqua Bike, riding solo for 12 days, testing not just my physical limits, but my ability to embrace the flow state and tap into strengthtrust, and gratitude at a deeper level. The message wasn’t just about pushing through one more day; it was about setting the bar higher and saying, “Let’s go for another 10 years.” This challenge was the culmination of a decade of work—locking in the final piece of the puzzle, where strength, trust, gratitude, and love came together in perfect harmony, putting me in a 12 hours a day for 12 days in a row a continual Flow State.

THE PRINCIPLES THAT POWER THESE CHALLENGES

Each of these events represents the embodiment of Strength, Trust, Gratitude, Love, and Flow State—the five principles that guided me through every obstacle. These principles aren’t just words; they are the foundation of everything I do.

  • Strength is the ability to endure, to rise above adversity, and to keep moving forward no matter the challenge.
  • Trust is the belief that no matter how difficult the path, you are capable of achieving greatness. Trust in yourself, in the process, and in the journey.
  • Gratitude transforms obstacles into opportunities, turning each moment of struggle into a lesson that propels you forward.
  • Love is the energy that fuels every challenge—the deep love for life, for the journey, and for the potential to inspire others by setting new limits.
  • Flow State is where everything aligns—where the mind, body, and spirit move in unison, unlocking the next level of performance and mental clarity.
OTHER WORLD FIRSTS AND WORLD RECORDS

In addition to the major challenges listed, I’ve also broken multiple world records and achieved feats that defy imagination. These accomplishments represent my commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, not just for me but for future generations.

  • 3 days non stop, 2 laps of Phuket Thailand, Paddleboard 85 miles and run 85 miles. Hills and 98% humidity. This was to purposely break me to see through the physical pain if emotional pain from my past would come up, it didn’t.
  • Solo circumnavigation of Phuket Island, Thailand on a Stand Up Paddleboard of 85 miles in 3 days.
  • Running a full marathon while holding a 36lb mattress with the message “Never lay down, Never give up!”—a reminder that resilience is about keeping going, even when it feels impossible.
  • Live streaming an entire marathon run while carrying a 30lb camera rig, engaging with 400,000 viewers throughout the race. It was a physical and mental test, but I was determined to connect with others while showing the true spirit of perseverance while answering deep questions from them.
  • Ultra Tri. Riding a 1950s rickshaw bike 180 miles, pushed a 2 tonne pick up with the Gold Coast Community 16 miles and Paddleboarded 6 miles—the  unconventional mode for a triathlon, proving that no challenge is too big, no matter how unorthodox the approach.
  • Ocean Ski Paddle Across the Gulf, South Australia

50-mile paddle to pass knowledge and mindset to the next generation of adventurers. When our compass was lost in rough conditions, heading into Great White Shark breading grounds, my companion’s trust and safety rested in my hands. In that moment, I felt a deep certainty—this path, this way of life, was mine to follow. As we pushed forward, the missing pieces came together, reinforcing my trust in adventure and purpose to share my journey with the world

These feats, alongside the others, are not just personal records—they represent breaking barriers, embracing fear, and showing others what can be done when you choose to defy the odds.
